Clip from G & P Hunters - 2/12/11
It was an enjoyable time at Hunters
place..There was a discussion on humate and this may be helpful.
The information
on the different humates is below. People should be mindful of the fact that humates are
difficult to test reliably and that these results have been produced in different
laboratories. Fulvic Acid content was not tested.

Prices vary and
the amount of humate being applied can be adjusted for differences in quality. Because of
this, it is recomend that Humates be applied at the following
rates:
Australian 3% by
weight of fertiliser being applied
Waimumu 5% by
weight of fertiliser being applied
Roxburgh 7.5% by
weight of fertiliser being applied
Humate is always
thoroughly mixed with fertiliser and or lime before application to give maximum opportunity
for chelating with applied cations to occur. (This is the bit that the truck drivers
love!)
Fulvic Acid and
Humic Acid can also be added to foliar mixes in a liquid form
There is an
article on fulvic acid that appeared in Southern Rural Life earlier this
year.
